This is in regards to the changes made to the TCRC Bylaws by the elected Delegates while in session during the September 2014 TCRC Quadrennial Convention.

I understand there are some people who are advocating for a yes vote, arguing there are really no changes other than housekeeping issues. Take the time to read through the proposed document, it will easily dispel that notion as inaccurate.

TCRC National Program
In 2013, the TCRC National Bursary Program is offering another 20 Bursaries.
The next General Ad will be initiated on January 6, 2013. The union has concerns that there is a general lack of understanding among our newer members as to the function and importance of your Blind Bid on file.
Each year, from November 5 to 11, Canadians join together to celebrate Veterans’ Week - this year is no different.

Bylaws – Section 27(c)
Education and Training fund
At the TCRC second quadrennial convention the delegates approved a change in the TCRC Bylaws and created a fund which will be utilized for education and training. The education and training fund will be a five dollars ($5.00) assessment above the members’ other dues assessments.
The proposed document: Casual Labour Board, will be tabled for a ratification vote at the next general meeting of TCRC Division 660.

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference National Bursary Program offers 20 Bursaries valued at five hundred dollars each. Since 2008 a total of 60 Bursaries have been awarded to successful applicants.
Meet in Ottawa
The TCRC’s new Executive Board met with officers of the General Committees and Provincial Legislative Boards.
The Ballots for the TCRC election of officers were counted yesterday. The newly elected President is Brother Rex Beatty.
Our training program has been updated and improved based on the feedback of the 2010 participants and our 2011 training season should be the best ever!
Any member who did not receive a ballot may request a ballot sent to their home address by calling the National Office.
Please be advised that in order to facilitate the office relocation the PLB Ontario Office will be closed on Monday November 29th, 2010 and will be re-opening again on Monday December 6th, 2010.

These meetings are being held to discuss the current contract negotiations and strategies with Bombardier Transportation.

– October 2010
Negotiations between Bombardier Transportation and TCRC Division 660 have proceeded at a steady pace since our initial meeting with the Company on October 29th of last year. We have met face to face on 13 separate occasions to date. We are aware that many of the members are anxious to have a new contract and are curious as to the length of time this process is taking.
